Why Your Service Catalog Matters
Your service catalog is the foundation of accurate pricing and consistent proposals. When every service has a defined name, description, and price, your team can create estimates and jobs without guessing or inconsistency — and customers always see the same professional presentation.
Opening the Service Catalog
Go to Settings → Services or tap Catalog in the navigation if it's enabled in your app layout.
Adding a Service
- Tap + New Service.
- Fill in:
- Service name — clear and customer-facing (e.g. "Air Conditioning Tune-Up").
- Description — what's included. This text appears on estimates and invoices.
- Category — group services by type (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, General). Categories help with filtering and reporting.
- Price type:
- Fixed price — a set amount (e.g. $149 flat for a tune-up).
- Hourly rate — charged per hour of labor.
- Price range — for services where cost varies (e.g. $200–$500 depending on scope).
- Quote required — no price shown; customer receives a custom estimate.
- Base price — your standard price (adjustable on individual jobs if needed).
- Estimated duration — used for scheduling and calendar blocking.
- Required skills — technicians without the listed skills won't be shown as options when this service type is selected.
- Tap Save Service.
Organising by Category
Categories help your team find the right service quickly and give you cleaner reporting (revenue by service type).
Create categories in Settings → Services → Categories and assign them when adding or editing a service.
Editing Prices
Prices on existing services can be updated at any time. Changes apply to future jobs and estimates only — existing draft estimates are not affected.
Bulk price changes (e.g. a 5% price increase across all services) can be done via Settings → Services → Bulk Edit → Adjust by Percentage.
Deactivating vs. Deleting
Deactivate a service to hide it from the picker when creating jobs and estimates without losing historical data. Useful when you temporarily stop offering a service or introduce a replacement.
Delete a service only if you've never used it in a job or estimate — deletion fails if there are historical records linked to it.
Using Services in Jobs and Estimates
When creating a job or estimate, tap the Services field and select from your catalog. The service name, description, and price pre-fill automatically. You can always adjust the price for a specific job if needed.
Supplier Catalog
The Supplier Catalog (under Settings → Services → Suppliers) stores the products and parts available from your preferred suppliers. This is separate from your customer-facing services — it's your internal procurement reference. Technicians can look up supplier parts when ordering materials for a job.
