Porting Your Phone Number to CrewBrix

Move your existing business phone number to CrewBrix so the AI Voice agent handles all calls on your established number.

What Is Number Porting?

Number porting (also called LNP — Local Number Portability) is the process of moving your existing phone number from your current carrier to CrewBrix's phone infrastructure. After porting, your existing number rings through to the CrewBrix AI Voice system.

This way, you don't need to update your number on your website, truck decals, or Google Business Profile — your existing customers and leads continue to reach you on the same number.

Before You Start

Check that your number is eligible:

  • Your number must be active with your current carrier.
  • You must be the account holder on the current carrier account.
  • Most US and Canadian numbers are portable; toll-free numbers (800, 888, etc.) are also portable.
  • VoIP numbers from some providers may have additional requirements.

Have these ready before you begin:

  • Your current carrier account number.
  • Your billing PIN or account password (carrier-specific).
  • The name and address on the carrier account.
  • A recent carrier bill (PDF) for verification.

Initiating the Port

  1. Go to Settings → AI Hub → AI Voice → Phone Number → Port Existing Number.
  2. Enter your phone number.
  3. Enter your carrier account details.
  4. Upload a copy of your most recent carrier bill.
  5. Tap Submit Port Request.

Timeline

Number porting typically takes 3–7 business days for local numbers and up to 10 business days for toll-free. You'll receive email updates at each stage:

  • Port request submitted.
  • Port approved by your current carrier.
  • Firm Order Commitment (FOC) date set — the exact date your number will move.
  • Port complete — your number is now on CrewBrix.

During the Port

Your existing phone service works normally until the FOC date. On the FOC date, calls will automatically route to the CrewBrix AI Voice system. There is typically a window of a few minutes during the cutover — calls during this window may ring but not connect.

Keeping a Backup Number

We recommend keeping a direct cell number available during the port transition, published internally for your team, in case of any cutover issues.

Cancelling or Reversing a Port

If you need to cancel a port in progress, contact CrewBrix support immediately. Once a port is complete, you can port the number to another carrier through a new port request.
