Creating a Job
To create a new job, open the app and tap the + button in the bottom navigation bar, then select New Job.
Fill in the required fields:
- Customer — search for an existing customer or tap + New Customer to add one on the spot.
- Job type — choose from your service catalog (e.g. HVAC tune-up, plumbing repair, electrical install).
- Scheduled date & time — pick the date and time window for the job.
- Job address — defaults to the customer's primary address; tap to change if the work site is different.
- Description — add any notes the technician will need on-site.
Tap Save to create the job. It will appear on the Jobs list and on the Calendar.
Assigning a Technician
After saving, open the job and tap Assign Technician. You'll see a list of your team members along with their current schedule so you can avoid double-booking.
Select one or more technicians and tap Confirm. Each assigned technician receives a push notification with the job details.
Changing an Assignment
To reassign a job, open it and tap the technician's name under the Assigned To section. Select a different team member and confirm. The original technician is notified that the job was reassigned.
Job Statuses
Jobs move through these statuses automatically or manually:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | Job is created and assigned but not yet started |
| In Progress | Technician has tapped Start Job in the app |
| Completed | Technician tapped Complete Job; ready for invoicing |
| Cancelled | Job was cancelled; no invoice will be generated |
You can manually move a job to any status by tapping the status badge and selecting the new state.
Tips
- Add tags to jobs (e.g. "warranty", "priority", "new customer") to filter your job list quickly.
- Use the Notes field for internal notes — these are visible to assigned technicians but not shown on customer-facing documents.
- Attach files or photos before the job starts so technicians arrive prepared.
