Collecting Payment in the Field

Accept credit cards, debit cards, or digital wallets on-site using your phone — no card reader required.

Payment Methods Accepted

CrewBrix supports the following payment methods for field collection:

  • Credit and debit cards — tap to pay (NFC) using the customer's phone or physical card via your phone's NFC reader.
  • Apple Pay / Google Pay — contactless payment in seconds.
  • Manual card entry — type the card number if NFC isn't available.
  • Payment link — send a link via SMS or email; the customer pays on their device.

A Stripe account must be connected to accept card payments. See Setting Up Stripe Integration.

Collecting Payment on a Completed Job

  1. Open the job and tap Collect Payment.
  2. Select the invoice to be paid (or create one inline if not yet invoiced).
  3. Choose a payment method:
  • Tap to Pay — hold the customer's card or phone near yours.
  • Send Link — enter or confirm the customer's phone number or email; they receive a payment link instantly.
  • Enter Card — type card details manually.
  1. Confirm the amount and tap Charge.
  2. A receipt is sent to the customer automatically and the invoice is marked Paid.

Splitting Payments

To split a payment (e.g. partial on card, rest by check):

  1. On the payment screen, tap Partial Payment.
  2. Enter the amount to charge now.
  3. The remaining balance stays on the invoice with an Outstanding status.
  4. Record a check or cash payment later under the invoice → Record Offline Payment.

Recording Offline Payments (Cash / Check)

If the customer pays by cash or check, you don't run anything through Stripe. Instead:

  1. Open the invoice and tap Record Payment.
  2. Select Cash or Check, enter the amount and any reference number.
  3. Tap Save. The invoice is marked Paid and no Stripe fees apply.

Processing Fees

Stripe charges a standard processing fee per transaction. CrewBrix does not add additional fees on top of Stripe's rate. Your Stripe dashboard shows a full breakdown of fees and payouts.
