A complete guide to the mobile-first technician experience — from the morning day brief to clocking out on the last job.

Starting the Day: The Tech Day Brief
When a technician opens the CrewBrix app each morning, the first screen they see is the Tech Day Brief — a personalised summary of everything on their schedule that day:
- Number of jobs scheduled.
- First job's address, customer name, and service type.
- Any priority alerts or notes from the dispatcher.
- Their total estimated hours for the day.
- Any jobs with special instructions flagged by the office.
This gives every technician immediate situational awareness without needing to scroll through a calendar.
Viewing the Day's Jobs
From the Day Brief, tap View All Jobs to see the full list in scheduled order. Each job card shows:
- Customer name and address.
- Scheduled time.
- Service type.
- Status.
- Any internal notes.
Tap a job card to open the full job detail.
The Job Workflow (What Technicians See)
Step 1 — Review the job: Read notes, check the materials list, confirm the address.
Step 2 — On My Way: Tap On My Way when leaving for the job. The customer receives an automated notification with an ETA. Time to arrival is tracked.
Step 3 — Arrive and start: Tap Start Job on arrival. Time Clock starts automatically (if enabled).
Step 4 — Do the work: Use the job screen to:
- Complete checklist items one by one.
- Add materials used (from catalog or manually).
- Take before/after photos.
- Add notes (internal or customer-visible).
- Run the Diagnostics Chat for technical help.
Step 5 — Complete the job: Tap Complete Job. If there's a required checklist, all items must be checked. Time Clock stops automatically.
Step 6 — Collect payment (if authorised): Tap Collect Payment and process the customer's card on-site.
Adding a Technician's Own Notes
Technicians can add notes at any point during the job. These notes are labelled with the technician's name and timestamp.
To keep notes internal (not shown to the customer), make sure the Internal toggle is on before saving.
Handling a Problem in the Field
If something unexpected happens (customer not home, job is bigger than estimated, needs a return visit):
- Tap Hold Job and select a reason.
- Add a note explaining the situation.
- The dispatcher is notified and can reschedule or reassign.
Never abandon a job without placing it on hold first — this keeps the office informed and prevents billing issues.
End of Day
At the end of the last job, the technician's time summary is available under Profile → Time Clock → Today. If anything looks wrong (e.g. forgot to clock out of a job), the technician should note it so a manager can correct the entry.
