A contractor estimate adds the cost of labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and allocated overhead, then applies a pricing method. This free builder keeps those internal costs separate from a customer proposal with scope, exclusions, payment terms, and a total price.

A WORKED EXAMPLE
An estimate pricing example
For an illustrative job with $1,000 of included costs, a 25% target margin produces a price of $1,333.33 before tax. A 25% markup produces $1,250 instead. A discount lowers the selling price and achieved margin. Tax collected is shown separately and is not treated as job profit.

Is this contractor estimate builder free?
Yes. Build estimates, compare options, export a draft or cost CSV, and print a customer proposal without creating an account or providing an email address. PDF saving uses your browser's print dialog.
Will customers see my labor costs or markup?
No. The customer proposal includes the scope, listed work and quantities, package price, discount, tax, deposit, exclusions, and terms. Internal unit costs, overhead calculations, markup, and profit stay in the builder and internal cost export.
What is included in the profit figure?
Job profit is the selling price after discount and before sales tax, minus the costs you entered, including labor burden and allocated overhead. It is not company net profit unless every relevant expense has been included. Payment fees, financing, income taxes, and other omitted expenses can reduce what you keep.
Are the template prices recommended market rates?
No. All prefilled prices, labor rates, quantities, and allocations are illustrative examples. Replace them with supplier quotes, your employment costs, site measurements, and the scope you agree with your customer.
Where is my estimate saved?
It stays in the current browser session unless you export a draft or opt in to remembering it on this device. Device storage is not a cloud backup and can be removed by clearing browser data. The tool does not submit customer details, project notes, costs, or uploaded logos to CrewBrix.
